Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups Thrive Whole Grain Kernza® flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 2 cups (12 oz bag) semisweet chocolate chips

  • (Optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together Thrive Whole Grain Kernza® flour, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Cream butter & sugars: In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy.

  4. Add eggs: Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Stir in milk.

  5. Combine: Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just blended. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).

  6. Scoop: Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.

  7. Bake: 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.

  8. Cool: Let cookies rest for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then move to a wire rack to cool completely.

 Pro Baking Tips

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker, chewier cookies.

  • Use flaky sea salt on top right after baking for a gourmet touch.

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
